We know what happened in Iraq but the US is also heavily involved in the fighting against a popular uprising in Colombia. The country - with about twice the population of Syria - has 5 million internally displaced.
I couldn't find number of casualties but those must be thousands a year.

The FARC rebels are Stalinists, fighting to make Colombia a much worse place. You know what happens when Stalinists get in power... they typically kill hundreds of thousands if not tens of thousands a year. It is time for FARC to stop the war it has created. They are ultimately responsible for the deaths. They cannot be supported for their goals and actions which are, if anything in this world is, pure evil.
Anonymous, you sound like an American - thinking that communism is something extraordinary unlike all other forms of extremism. I beg to disagree.
Colombia is a country with rapacious landlords with their own murderous militia. And it has a long tradition of fights against that - not only from the FARC. Just like with Syria I don't believe Colombia would benefit if the rebels won. But also just like Syria Colombia needs a genuine compromise wherein the demands of the rebels are taken into account.

In terms of the number of deaths, communism is in a league by itself. It is extraordinary and exceptional. That you disagree only means you know little about this.
Check into the history of this movement. Yes, I am an American, but I am very well informed about this.

Colombia would be better served if the outrageous demands of FARC were completely ignored. Why give any ground to something that is so evil?
